Directions: You may use your books and journals. Write a DETAILED answer in complete sentences. Answer all parts of the question. You have a lot of space to write because a complete answer will need that much space. EXPLAIN your reasoning.

Chapter 22: The voice of Colonel Sherburn. How might Sherburn’s comments to the lynch mob on pp be a direct line to the voice of Mark Twain making social commentary? How does the mob prove Sherburn/Twain to be right? What point is mark Twain making?
