7/6/2016 Indicator 4 Activities DECS and Special Education Cooperatives will provide training and consultation/ technical assistance for data analysis and action planning to districts whose data indicate a significant discrepancy in the rate of suspensions/expulsions of students with disabilities Action Steps: 1.DECs will develop a protocol for root cause analysis for use by districts 2.DECS will require districts with significant discrepancies whose trend data has not improved over time to: a.Develop an analysis of suspension /expulsion data at the individual student level, using the DECS root cause analysis protocol. The district will submit its analysis and an action plan to DECS for approval b.Secure training and technical assistance based on the district’s root cause analysis for the implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports at targeted schools in the district c.Submit prescribed documentation to the Special Education Co-op and DECS on an ongoing basis

7/6/2016 Indicator 20 Activities DECS will convene regular meetings of the Special Education Advisory Group for Infinite Campus (SEAGIC) to provide input, direction and guidance for special education data requirements in the student information system. Action Steps 1. SEAGIC will meet 3 to 4 times annually 2.SEAGIC will develop and revise special education data collection requirements including development of data standards to reflect changes in federal and state laws to improve the student information system 3SEAGIC will be representative of local district, state, and vendor staff
