 Definition: Names a person, place, thing, or idea, including days and months  Example Sentence: The kids like to play soccer in July.

 Definition: Describes a noun by telling what kind, which one, how many, or how much  Example Sentence: The energetic kids play two sports in sunny July.

 Definition: Shows action, combines with another verb to form a phrase, and links the subject to the words that describe it  Example Sentence: The kids kick the soccer ball, run up and down the field, and feel tired at the end of the game.

 Defintion: replaces a noun or noun phrase  Example Sentence: A boy scores a goal, and he is very excited!

 Definition: links words, phrases, and clauses  Example Sentence: The crowd cheered and clapped.

 Definition: Describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb; often ends in “ly”  Example Sentence: The player easily scored another goal and happily ran back to the starting line.

 Definition: Expresses strong feeling or emotion  Example Sentence: “Hurray! Awesome!” shouted the delighted fans.
