Homework,Late Work, and Re-doing Work

Our Beliefs O We want our students to be lifelong learners who genuinely have an interest in developing new skills though inquiry and practice. O Assignments are crucial steps in the learning process.

Homework Homework is an extension of the day's lesson, and it is essential practice that is designed to prepare students for the next class period. Daily Planners: All grade 6 and 7 students must use their agenda books every day, in all classes. Power School: Upcoming assignments will most likely be posted on Power School.

Missing Work No student shall receive credit or a semester grade for a course until all work assigned throughout the semester has been submitted and earns a minimum of a 50% proficiency score. Office Hours: hours Advisory Help: Students may sign up to see their teachers for extra help during Advisory on Fridays. Power School Checks: Every Thursday in Advisory, students will log onto Power School to check the progress they have made in their classes. Mrs. Kelly: Some teachers may also request that students sit with Mrs. Kelly after school in order to finish their missing assignments.

Late Work O A points penalty for late work is at the discretion of the teacher while remaining in the spirit of encouraging student learning and improvement. O Remember, all work must be completed before the end of the semester in order to receive a grade in the class.

Re-do's Re-doing Homework O Must be done during the teacher's office hours, within time parameters set by teacher O Must be completed prior to the summative assessment O Highest grade possible is 85% O Can be done as many times as the student wants Re-doing Summative Assessments O Must see teacher during office hours O Can be an alternate project O Highest grade possible is 85% O Unless the teacher makes an exception, can only be done once Re-doing Projects O It is at the teacher's discretion of how a late or incomplete final piece will be penalized
