Developments aiming to improve traffic safety on the network of GYSEV Zrt Február 7. Gócza József

HISTORY OF GYSEV ZRT Concession for building of Győr (Raab) – Sopron (Oedenburg) - Neufeld/Leitha for baron Victor Erlanger Opening of Győr-Sopron line Opening of the section Sopron - Neufeld/Leitha 1890 Introduction of zone charging, expansion of passenger traffic 1907 The first direct express train to Budapest 1987 Electrification of Győr-Sopron line

OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE OF GYSEV ZRT. Existing public and private capital Operation permit and safety certificate in both states Benefits: incentive behaviour of owners, continuous control, balanced development

NETWORK OF RAILWAY LINES OF GYSEV ZRT. : GYSEV Zrt. operates the following lines: Győr Sopron EbenfurthGyőr Sopron Ebenfurth Fertőszentmiklós NezsiderFertőszentmiklós Nezsider Sopron SzombathelySopron Szombathely Szombathely SzentgotthárdSzombathely Szentgotthárd Rajka – Hegyeshalom – Porpác – SzombathelyRajka – Hegyeshalom – Porpác – Szombathely Szombathely – KőszegSzombathely – Kőszeg Szombathely – ZalaszentivánSzombathely – Zalaszentiván Körmend – Zalalövő line.Körmend – Zalalövő line.

MAIN DATA OF THE NETWORK OF RAILWAY LINES OF GYSEV ZRT. The full length of GYSEV network in Hungary: km One-track railway, station distant traffic One-track railway, traffic with automated block Double-track railway, traffic with automated block 97 % of the operating track network are provided with automated train control system: EÉVB, Indusi 97 % of the total train-kilometre are realised on tracks with automated train control system.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GYSEV RAILWAY LINES The speed limits on our lines: –Győr - Sopron line: 120 km/h, (CTC line) –Sopron – Szombathely line: 120 km/h, (CTC line) –Szombathely - Szentgotthárd line: 120 km/h (CTC line) –Szombathely – Kőszeg line: 80 km/h –Szombathely – Zalaszentiván stage: 100 km/h –Szombathely – Hegyeshalom – Rajka lines: 100 km/h On the lines can be found altogether: 41 stations and 1 junctions, (24 of them are ) 304 crossings (1,43 km/ crossings) 83,2% of them are utomatic barrier 41 stations and 1 junctions, (24 of them are remote- controlled) 304 crossings (1,43 km/ crossings) 83,2% of them are equipped with automatic barrier

ACCIDENT STATISTICS OF GYSEV ZRT. Quantitative data of trains in 2012: : km – All train-kilometres : km : ( average 244/day) –All running trains: ( average 244/day) accident data in 2012 : 26 cases Shunting accidents 26 cases 72 cases Run over 72 cases 9 cases Accidents happened in road crossings 9 cases 9 cases Sticking of brake, hot wheel 9 cases

PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt„ PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt „ Idea of the project: 2011 summer Presentation of Application Form: 2011 October Decision: 2011 middle of November Subsidy contract 2012 (28th February) Feasibility study: 2012 July Conclusion of additional contracts (consulting, communication, engineering): end of 2012 Publishing of implementation public procurement calls: 2013 January, February Construction contracts: 2013 spring Duration of implementation: 6 months Project closing : end of 2013

PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt„ PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt „ Content of the project: Barrier : Barrier developments: Establishment of barriers Changing of signaling equipment Establishment of video inspection system Establishment of diagnostic instruments: Hot wheel detector Profile validation system Flat wheel detector, dinamic axle load detector

PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt„ PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt „ Expected results: The developments result in berriers equippment provided with LED lens operating on Győr-Sopron line (similarly Sopron Szombathely Szentgotthárd line), The expected size of decrease of accident rate in the crosses included in the development: –LED only50% –LED + barrier 85% –barrier only 65% 90% – video inspection system 90%

PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV ZrtGYSEV ZRT. „ PROJECT „DEVELOPMENTS AIMING TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE NETWORK OF GYSEV Zrt GYSEV ZRT. „ The necessity of the vehicle diagnostic developments: As a result of the expansion of CTC/remote control, the monitoring of trains by manpower falls short. The examined phenomena: Flat wheel: demage caused by wheel slipping to the tread of the wheel Hot wheel: the degree of heat of the bearing, the disc brake or the tyre exceeds the limit Displacement of load: Due to wrong securing or inadequate shunting

DYNAMIC AXLE LOAD DETECTOR The task of the system: observation of damages on the surface of wheels (wear caused by sliding), overloads and giving alarm message.

HOT WHEEL DETECTOR The task of the hot wheel detector: measuring the temperature of bearings, disc brake and the bearing surface of wheels, giving alarm message

PROFILE VALIDATION SYSTEM The task of the systems: measuring the load in loading gauges and structure gauges, observation of displacement of load and giving alarm message

THE RESULTS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT less railway accidents time and money saving (less mitigation of demages) Járműdiagnosztikai_kisfilm.avi
