Are you ready? (You will be!) Why Teen Services? Mission and Vision What’s at the core of teen services? Identifying your resources You can do it!

Why Teen Services? “A library in the middle of a community is a cross between an emergency exit, a life-raft and a festival. They are cathedrals of the mind; hospitals of the soul; theme parks of the imagination. On a cold rainy island, they are the only sheltered public spaces where you are not a consumer, but a citizen instead” -Caitlin Moran

Today’s Teens: 14% of our total population Diverse Tech Savvy Creative At risk Cyberbullying, depression, unemployment, poverty, and homelessness are just some of the challenges they face AND THEY ARE 25% of public library users (They are already here!)

Mission and Vision Our mission is clear: Providing teens with a library experience that fulfills their wants and needs in a equitable and enjoyable manner
