Introduction ● Benjamin Bloom was born in Lansford, PA. On Feb 21, ● He then died on Sept 13, 1999 in Chicago, IL

● He went to high school in Lansford where he graduated as class valedictorian in ● The fall of 1931 he attending the University of Pennsylvania where he received his B.A. and M.A. in psychology. ● He then became a research worker for both the Penn. State Relief Organization in Pennsylvania and for the American Youth Commission in Washington, D.C. ● He began he doctoral studies in Chicago Accomplishments

● While working on his doctorate Bloom became a research assistant in the Board of Examination in the University of Chicago ● In 1942 he received his doctorate degree and stay with the Board of Examination until ● He published The Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, The Classification of Educational Goals, Handbook I: The Cognitive Domain. ● Then Bloom’s Taxonomy was born Accomplishment

● This last step includes: ● Recall of information discovery ● Observation ● Listing ● Locating ● Naming Knowledge

In the mind of Dr. Bloom here I believe is what he would think about the mitten problem. By using his theory Bloom would probably test this problem by using a thermostat. By using the thermostat Bloom realizes that the temperature of the mitten is the same as the room temperature. But why? Bloom would further find out that the thermostat does not give off heat like a human does which makes the inside of the mitten the same temperature as the room The Mitten Problem

Between a rock, a human, and a tree Bloom would use the laws of science to determine is it alive are not. In Biology, It states that an organism must have these elements to be considered ALIVE: ● Respire (breathe) ● Reproduce ● Excrete waste ● Grow/Develop ● Respond to Stimuli ● Taking in Energy What is alive and what is not

Judging by these element in biology Dr. Bloom would of came up with these answers. ● Rock- it does not breath, can’t reproduce, nor Excrete waste, nor grow/develop, nor take in energy so it is not alive ● How ever a human take in energy by eating, breath, reproduce, grow/develop, respond to stimuli and excrete waste so therefore it is alive ● Tree- this is where human get their oxygen from, they can grow and reproduce, their energy comes from the sun they breath carbon dioxide from us human. There for making tree alive. What is alive and what is not
