College Recruiting Process A very small percentage of high school athletes go to the next level to play. Approximately 6% go on to play and only 1% will actually play. I will exhaust all of my resources if your son is interested in playing at the next level. – Coaches contacts – Coaches visits – Inform – Promote camps and programs

College Coaches Things initially asked by coaches about athletes: – What is there GPA? – What is their ACT/SAT score? – Do they play other sports? – What kind of a leader are they?

Freshman Year Be a great student athlete Be a great student – Learn how to be a high school student. – GPA is important » Very difficult to recover from a poor freshman year academically. Focus on the fundamentals of the game. – Listen to coaches – Be a student of the game – Be the best athlete you can be – Get used to creating a highlight film in Hudl Have a great freshman football experience Work hard in the weight room. Play other sports

Sophomore Year Be a great student athlete Be a great student – GPA is important – Start thinking about higher level courses. – Take the free PSAT/PACT that is offered through the school. Focus on the fundamentals of the game. – Listen to coaches – Elevate your knowledge of the game. – Be the best athlete you can be – Get used to creating a highlight film in Hudl. Start researching schools/football programs in a region of the country that you are interested in. – Where would you like to go? Which region of the country. – 5-10 schools – Do they have the academics I am interested in pursuing. – Fill out the basic questionnaire all football programs have on their website. If a school really jumps out to you, explore what summer camps they have. – Register for 1-2 camps in the summer to go to. – Many local camps if transportation is a problem. – Cheap Work hard in the weight room Play other sports

Junior Year Be a great student athlete Be a great student – GPA is important – Start taking higher level courses. – Take the free ACT that is offered through the school. – Take the ACT offered in June (on own) to get a higher score. – Complete the NCAA clearinghouse. » Be a great student of the game. – Listen to coaches – Film study – Elevate your knowledge of the game. – Be the best athlete you can be – Create your highlight film in Hudl Continue researching schools/football programs. – Where would you like to go?
