This training program is the follow-up workplan according to the ITC\ILO A Training course: “Information Management for Trade Union Organization, Research and Education”, aimed at meeting the training needs of the Chinese trade unions in the field of application of information technologies towards improving information management skills, organization, communications and networking for solidarity campaigns. Among the strategies for coping with the challenges of globalisation is also the use of information technology (IT) by the trade unions and harnessing the potential represented by computer communications for improving the effectiveness of trade union actions. In order to build Chinese trade union’s capacity to represent his members, ACFTU need to collect, store and produce information on topics such as collective bargaining, membership recruitment, financial affairs, policy development, education and other activities. Officials need to know how to use information technologies in order to maximize the effects of their effort on behalf of the members. Among the strategies for coping with the challenges of globalisation is also the use of information technology (IT) by the trade unions and harnessing the potential represented by computer communications for improving the effectiveness of trade union actions. This training program is therefore aimed at helping Chinese trade unions to improve their information management skills with the use of computer technologies through experience sharing between the participants and hands on learning. The programme will also impart training in the use of information technologies for on-line communications, lists, computer conferencing and web sites. This could help to improve communications and assist in building solidarity networks at national, regional and global levels for trade union actions, including for online campaigns and TU education activities.

2.TARGET GROUP & PARTIES INVOLVED: The participants to this training program will be from provincial trade union federation, 60 participants proposed. TRAINING CONTENT The training will consist of the following sections: a)Globalization, Decent Work & the Labour Movement a session on the Globalisation, Financial Crisis and Decent Work – focusing on changes in the world of work, impact on labour relations, challenges before the trade union movement.
