LONG – TERM OBJECTIVES The goal & overalls aim of the project are as follows: STUC leaders are fully aware or their responsibilities in raising awareness of their members to respect and understand the fundamental principles of ILO once Samoa is becoming an ILO member. BACKGROUND The recent realignment of the public sector Ministries, appears to be a positive move by the Public Sector, in realizing Government’s efforts towards the development of the private sector, as the engine of growth. However, it may not solve the problem of violations of workers rights at workplaces, especially the ones in the private sector. Unfortunately,trade unions cannot eliminate such violations due to the following factors\circumstances.
