Opinion Essay—Paragraph Data Collection Post-Assessment 7 th Grade LaCA

Paragraph Data Collection Post- Assessment Directions Write your first and last name at the top of a blank piece of paper that will be turned into Miss Lempke. Also include today’s date and your LaCA class period. Title your paper “Opinion Essay Post-Assessment.” Write your response neatly since this paragraph will be scored/graded as a summative assessment. The paragraph will be scored using the “Opinion Essay— Paragraph Data Collection Rubric” and graded on your support (evidence & explanation) only. The goal is to show that your writing has improved from the first body paragraph you wrote on this topic.

Paragraph Data Collection Post- Assessment Prompt In 1 BODY PARAGRAPH (7 Sentences Minimum), answer the following question. Write in complete sentences and be detailed in your explanation/response: Start with a transition & topic sentence. Provide 3 pieces of evidence (fact & personal experience) & explain each piece of evidence in detail after you state it. Transition before you mention a new piece of evidence and before you explain each piece of evidence. Use the Opinion Essay Scaffold for help. PROMPT = Choose one reason why passing time should or should not be lengthened between classes. Explain in detail with support (evidence).
