Lower Silesia Innovation Strategy : Primary Obejectives: 1. Strengthening regional blocks of competence. 2. Elicitation of the researches environment. 3. Building of the Innovative Infrastructure. 4. Financing Innovations. 5. Lowering barriers for Innovators. 6. Education for Innovations 7. Promoting Pro-innovative attitudes. 8. Accumulation of Human Resources.  The Strategy was introduced by the local parliament on the 25 th April 2005.

V Lowering barriers for Innovators. - „Parks and Incubators” (value of the project over 57 mln €) – Project being implemented by the Division of Implementation of Regional Operational Programme within Measure 1.4 „Infrastructure supporting Innovations and entrepreneurship in the region” Regional Operating Programme of Lower Silesia. Activities planned in the nearest future:  Lower Silesia Innovation Days (12th – 15th October 2009 r. ) Presentations, discussions, demonstrations, exhibitions about innovations and its significance for improvement of competitiveness of enterprises, economy and whole region. Initiating cooperation between scientist and entrepreneurs.  Regional Cluster Support Programme Support of creation and development of Clusters in Lower Silesia and increasing their competitiveness on the market, which will result in socio- economic development of the whole region.  „Innovator of Lower Silesia” – Contest TARGET: bringing out most innovative solutions and projects already implemented (or projects planned to be implemented in the nearest future ) in Lower Silesia. BENEFICIANS: entrepreneurs, scientists, inventors, local self-governing units, R&D units and other institutions from our region involved in pro – innovative activities. Activities Planned in the nearest future  Project: Analysis of condition and directions of development of pro- innovative institutions in Lower Silesia Voivodeship. (HC_OP 8.2.2) – Project under merytorical evaluation. - establishing, development and updating Lower Silesia Innovation Strategy throughout analysis, studies and expertises.  Implementation of projects co-financed by the European Union DISTRICT (implementation of subprojects which primary objectives will be interregional cooperation supporting development of innovations within particular region. (projects about financing „start-up” enterprises, diffusion of innovations, supporting cooperation of business and science.) KNOW MAN (initiative supporting development of Technology Parks)  Initiatives supporting development and promotion of Technology Parks (conferences, seminaries).  „Resourceful Ph. D. Student – investment in innovative development of the region” – 2 calls: First – 50 students, Second – 70 Students. Scholarships for 18th months. First edition from October 2010, second one October (Project duration: 2010 – 2013). Implementation of the Lower Silesia Innovation Strategy
