Answer Type your questions and answers in the placeholders. You can add the points value at the bottom for reference. When you’re in slide show view, click the triangle to return to the game board slide. In many locations the wind’s strength is too low to support a wind turbine or wind farm. Generally produce less energy than a fossil fuelled power plant creating the need for more then one turbine The noise pollution can be bothersome to those living close to the turbine 50 Category 1

Answer Type your questions and answers in the placeholders. You can add the points value at the bottom for reference. When you’re in slide show view, click the triangle to return to the game board slide. Geothermal energy is being used by using pipes buried more than four feet in the earth. Electricity from under the earth works by tapping into steam or hot water reservoirs under earth. The heat is used to drive electrical generators. 30 Category 2

When you’re in slide show view, click the triangle to return to the game board slide. The nacelle houses an electrical generator, power control equipment and other mechanical equipment, connected to the rotor blades. The wind strikes these blades and causes the rotor to spin. When the wind is strong enough, the rotational energy in the rotor is converted to electrical energy within the generator. The voltage of the electricity produced by the wind turbine is then increased by a transformer and substation to enable it to be fed into the electricity grid. 50 Category 4
