TBPT-ICR Joint F2F (May 4-6) In bringing in community members from both TBPT and ICR together, we aim to: Inform community about the various Life Sciences Efforts Foster new collaborations across sites for using tools and engaging in common initiatives Identify and develop key interoperability touchpoint areas across the Life Sciences community to advance in the near future In order to ensure all members of the community can learn about the initiatives in both workspaces, the sessions are focused on related topics: Day 1 (Tuesday, May 4) - Tissue Banks and Pathology Tools WS Day 2 (Wednesday, May 5) – Life Sciences (TBPT and ICR – related efforts) Day 3 (Thursday, May 6) – Integrative Cancer Research WS We encourage all of you to attend all 3 days! Upcoming caTissue Code Jamboree As we develop the next version of caTissue Suite we will be reviewing its code architecture. One aim is to make it easier for the community to make their own code modifications or contribute them for use by others. If you have accessed and modified caTissue source code and would like to be involved in improving the architecture of caTissue please contact Anna Fernandez Must have used and modified caTissue source code to fit your needs Or have technically assessed the source code and then determined you could not modify as you wanted to. We will be contacting each person individually in the upcoming weeks. Those that volunteer in the early architecture discussions may be invited to participate in regular design and code review sessions throughout the project 5
Community Presentation Fox Chase Cancer Institute Presentation: Fox Chase's efforts in customizing caTissue to fit institute's needs: Example of type of discussion/issues to be addressed at upcoming caTissue Code Jamboree“ Presenter: Michael Collins, M.S., Director of Research Informatics; caBIG® Center Deployment Lead, Fox Chase Cancer Center Purpose: Outline Fox Chase efforts to use/modify caTissue Suite code base to fit it's Biosample Repository needs. Present FCCC biobanking workflow and screens. Discuss challenges faced, areas in the code that provided roadblocks, areas for improvement, and recommendations on what may need to be addressed in next code release
