STREAM – AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH FOR STUDENT EMPOWERMENT AT KGS

JOURNEY WITH STREAM IN KGS( ) AND WAY FORWARD LEGO lab – grades 4 and 5 – Smart city – LEGO presentation– Makers Day – November Expeditionary learning- Turtle rehabilitation centre- Mina Al Salam In preparation of What works workshop in January from STEM to STEAM, connection was made to all the subjects with English creative writing, LEGO – 2 more sectors were added within the SMART city to save marine life, Water filtration process ( Engineering and science ), taking learning to the community ( creek park and dolphinarium – save the dolphins) From – Engineering has been integrated from grade 1-5 in the curriculum with 80 mins of Engineering every week.

CENTRAL IDEA Through the arts people use different forms of expression to convey their uniqueness as human beings. Ashitha Why do you think LEGO will help you integrate stream in our curriculum? As it relates to technology and arts in stream it helps us build our creativity and engineering skills.

Sienna & Affia What did you learn about LEGO? Lego is a fun and inspiring activity. It helps build our imagination. You can do anything you want with a pile of blocks.

Ghanasyam & Ayman How has stream impacted learning? It has improved our learning by adding technology into our curriculum. It helped us to go to the next level of learning. We researched & used technology in Science, Math, English and Arts.

Raaquib How expeditionary learning and STREAM integration has enhanced learning? Since STREAM is connected to all the subjects it makes a lot of difference when expeditionary learning is something we learn beyond classroom.
