6. Goal 1: Understanding the Arts as expression of self and cultures. Objectives: Exploring artifacts from diverse cultures; making inferences and generalizations based on these. Assessment: Students complete table with inferences and generalizations, followed by whole class discussion.

7. Goal 2: Understanding the curricular dimensions of Social Studies Themes Objectives: 1.Classify images of diverse cultures into S.S. Themes. 2.Create a collage that represents multiple dimensions of a particular S.S. theme. Assessments: 1.Discussion with partner. 2.Create a collage.

Goal 3: Understanding concepts and processes for arts integration Objectives: 1.Identify the different arts (visual, musical, performance) within the context of education. 2.Exploring arts integration curriculum in the following expressive domains: Vocal production Playing instruments Creating puppets Integrating all of the above. Assessment: 1.Reflect on opera video through questions, responses, and observations. 2.Active participation in workshop activities.

9. Goal 4: Integrating the arts into curriculum to enhance learning. Objectives: 1.Integrate art projects into Social Studies activity. 2.Integrate art projects into literacy activity. Assessments: 1.Social studies Themes’ collages. 2.Performance for puppet show.

Objectives: Explore the nature of different media: Paper, photos, cartoons, clay, new molding products, crafts’ supplies for children. 2.Apply different techniques to create a finished product: Collage, sculpture, puppetry. Assessments: 1.Create a collage. 2.Create a puppet using different media.
