9 Unit of Inquiry Overview continued Who We Are: Central Idea: Body systems work together to keep us alive. 11 November to 20 December Where We Are in Place and Time Central Idea: Migration is a response to human circumstance and challenges which causes diverse effects. 13 January to 21 February

10 Unit of Inquiry Overview continued How the World Works. Central Idea: Materials undergo changes that provide benefits and pose challenges for society. 24 February to 28 March

11 Unit of Inquiry Overview continued Sharing the planet. 31 March to 23 May Grade 4 Students’ Central Idea The actions and attitudes of individuals and communities create peace or conflict. Grade 5 Students write their own central idea and lines of inquiry to research in preparation for the Exhibition.

13 Grade 5 – End of Year Puberty Addresses physical, emotional and social changes students are beginning to experience at this time. Held during the last two weeks of school Curriculum materials will be shared with parents as the dates for the mini-lessons approach. Transition to Secondary School

18 Grade 4/5 - ISA International Schools’ Assessment from The Australian Council for Educational Research to assess reading, writing and mathematical literacy For Grade 3, 4 & 5 students on October 9 th and 10 th Results available beginning of Semester Two. No student preparation required Why do we test? To inform our teaching and learning To compare ISPP to like schools

19 School Day… Arrive on time Be prepared Bring a water bottle Equipment for PE – sports shoes, clean T-shirt to change after Equipment for swimming – swimming costume, towel, sunscreen Encourage your child to bring a healthy snack and lunch.

22 Grade 5 Barge Trip Chao Phraya River in Thailand. We investigate the river environment and human impact upon it. 27th – 30th January 2013.

23 Grade 4 Sleepover In school buildings and grounds. For the children to experience an overnight excursion in a familiar setting. To prepare the children for multi-night school trips. To develop interpersonal skills using team building activities.
