MONEY WHO DOESN’T LIKE MONEY?

Activity 1: Recalling prev. learning Purpose: To recall what you learned in the previous class. Instructions: 1. What did you learn in the last class? 2. What are some useful expressions that you remember from the last class? 3. What are some words that are difficult for you to remember? 4. How would you describe what your partner is doing.

Activity 1: guiding structures and functions.  Present progressive.  4 cases in which we can use present progressive.  Useful expressions.  Comparatives.

Activity 2: warm up. Purpose: to engage students in a new day of class.  Have You Ever? Procedure: Arrange group into a large circle with one person in the middle. The leader will prompt with the phrase Have you ever ? The person in the middle will finish the phrase. Example: Have you ever had candy bars for breakfast? Each of the people in the circle that has done what the person in the middle has said (had candy bars for breakfast) will quickly exchange places with someone else that has also done it. Whoever is left in the middle will finish the phrase the next.

Activity 2: guiding structures and functions.  Have you ever worked in a factory.  Have you ever taken a shower?  Have you ever gone to Colombia?  Have you ever played soccer?  Have you ever worked at night?  Have you ever written a book?  Have you ever gone to the church?  Have you ever worn a pink t-shirt?

Activity 3: comparing two things. Purpose: To compare two different people or things.  Check on the use of comparative adjectives.  Complete grammar exercises 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Check and work on pronunciation exercise pg. 80.

Activity 3: guiding structures and functions.  Comparative adjectives.  I am taller than my sister.  I am younger than my neighbor.  Adjectives.  Tall young smart.  Fast.  Good.

Activity 4: Who is the best? To describe the most relevant characteristics.  Check on the use of superlative adjectives.  Complete grammar and article in page 81.  Work in small groups and discuss the questions.

Activity 4: guiding structures and functions.  Superlative adjectives.  Who is the oldest?  Who is the most interesting.  Adjectives.  Tall young smart.  Fast.  Good.

Activity 5: wrap up. (vocabulary extra) Purpose: to recall and summarize what was leaned in today’s session.  Complete useful phrases pg. 82  Match the pictures with the words.  Look at the pictures and ask and answer questions about the pictures.  Check on some uses of like.  Recall the uses for comparative and superlatives.
