The Congress of Vienna

Congress of Vienna Meetings for a European peace plan so no wars ever break out again (1814 – 1815). The goal of the Congress was to fix all of the problems that arose from the French Revolution and Napoleon. Leader of the Congress of Vienna was Klemens von Metternich.

Results of C of V Establishes a balance of power in Europe. Surrounded France with strong countries so no one country would be stronger and a threat to others. Restores power to the original rulers before Napoleon (legitimacy). New political philosophies emerge (liberal vs conservative)
