SLC – You tell me Web design – Using software design a website

To be able to fully explain the different stages of the SLC to others and to apply your knowledge to a design project. Today you are going to learn about the different stages of the SLC – you are going to learn it so well that you will be able to explain the stages to somebody else by the end of the lesson! We are then going to put this new found knowledge to good use by designing our own interface for a social networking site

SLC all systems go through this cycle or similar in order to be made. Without it projects would fail We can use the techniques from the SLC to create a social networking site

Use the internet to research the 8 stages of the SLC. In a software package of your choice write down notes on the stages that you are researching.

You have 20 minutes to research and learn about the 8 stages. Remember – if you think you are finished test each others knowledge! You must make sure that your notes are nice and detailed

How could the SLC help us? Think about any homework tasks or projects you do – You have 1 minute to think up some answers – I will ask each pair!

Design your own interface for a social networking site using a software of your choice Each feature will need to be justified later – Think about security, passwords, privacy issues, internal settings, safety and so on. 20 minutes

How does the system lifecycle govern the creation of social networking sites? Think back to start of lesson – would you show a different colour card now? In your books write the answer down to the question
