Hardware  Hardware refers to the physical parts of a computer and related devices.  I use many types of hardware like the the keyboard, speakers to listen to music, etc.

Software  Software is the collection of a computer programs and related DATA that provides the instructions.  I use many types of software like tunes; I use tunes to listen to music that I like.

Output  Output is the process of transferring data from internal storage to an external medium.

Input  Data to be entered into a computer for processing.  The process of introducing data into the internal storage of a computer.

Microprocessor  A Microprocessor is an integrated circuit that contains the entire central processing unit of a computer on a single chip.

Laser Printer  A high-speed printer that uses a laser to form dot-matrix patterns and an electrostatic process to fuse metallic particles to paper a page at a time.  I use a

Hard Drive  A Disk drive containing a hard disk.

Download To transfer (software, data, character sets, etc.) from a distant to a nearby computer, from a larger to a smaller computer, or from a computer to a peripheral device.

Cursor  A movable, sometimes blinking, symbol that indicates the position on a CRT or other type of display where the next character entered from the keyboard.

PDF  A file format that makes it possible to display text and graphics in the same fixed layout on any computer screen.  A document or file in this format.

Storage  Storage means memory  I always storage important files in my flash drive

Inkjet Printer  A high-speed typing or printing process in which charged droplets of ink issuing from nozzles are directed onto paper under computer control.

Flash Drive A very small, portable, solid- state hard drive that can be inserted into a USB port for storage and retrieval of data. I storage my files or pictures in my flash drive

Ram  Temporary memory  Receive new instruction  Larger capacity

Integrated Circuit A circuit of transistors, resistors, and capacitors constructed on a single semiconductor wafer or chip.

Desktop  A desktop is the primary display screen of a graphical user interface.  On my desktop I have a blue background with my data drive and puff's.

Applications  Applications are apps that you download for a use of something.  I have many applications like tunes, camera, ,etc.

Monitor  A device or arrangement for observing, detecting, or recording the operation of a machine or system, especially an automatic control system.  I use the monitor to se what I’m typing or playing.

Compact Disc  Is digitally encoded for a laser beam to scan, decode, and transmit to a playback system, computer monitor, or television set.  I use a compact disk to burn music to listen to it.

Electronic  Controlled by computers, or computer products and services.  I use my electronic to play, call, and text.

Rom  Permanent memory.  No new instructions are allowed.  Information is used over and over.

Embedded Processor  Only processes one set of instructions.  In appliances  Can’t change instructions

Document  A piece of written, printed, or electronic matter that provides information or evidence or that serves as an official record.  To save a document you press File; save as

Hyperlink  A link from a hypertext file or document to another location or file. 

Cpu  Central processing unit  The key component of a computer system, which contains the circuitry necessary to interpret and execute program instructions.

Browser  A software program that allows the user to find and read encoded documents in a form suitable for display

Pixel  The smallest element of an image that can be individually processed in a video display system.

Internet  A vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide  I use the internet to search things

Byte  Adjacent bits processed by a computer as a unit.

Gigabyte  A measure of storage  I use gigabytes to download applications on my iPod

Motherboard  A rigid, slotted board upon which other boards that contain the basic circuitry of a computer or of a computer component can be mounted.

Virus  A segment of self- replicating code planted illegally in a computer program, often to damage or shut down a system or network.
