This term means transferring information from the devices of the computer and displaying it on the mother board
The speakers gave me output by allowing me to listen to music

4. Laser Printer
A type of printer that can print out high quality graphics by using a laser.
I printed out a Marvel comic book with my laser printer.

5. Hard Drive
A data storage device used for rapidly changing information by using disks.
I stuck a musical disk in our computer drive.

6. Microprocessor
A piece of hardware that manages the computers CPU(Central Processing Unit).
When the microprocessor failed the computer shut down.

7. Optical Disc A disc that stores binary data.
I downloaded and saved pictures on an optical disc.

8. Download
To make a copy of a document or a piece of data and save it somewhere else.
I downloaded the game Angry Birds.

9. Cursor
An indicator that displays where your mouse is on a computer monitor.
The mouse was disconnected, so the cursor wouldn’t work

10. Pdf Known as portable document format it is used to save software
I saved the file as a pdf.

A set of machine readable instructions that instructs the computer to perform certain things.
I downloaded the dictionary software app.

12. Storage Components used to retain digital data.
I stored the game in bookmarks toolbar.

13. Inkjet Printer
A type or style of printing that accomplishes the task by propelling ink forward and on to the paper.
Using the inkjet printer, I developed the document.

14. Flash Drive
A data storage device that is portable and can be ejected from the computer.
I save the power point on my flash drive so I could work on it at home.

15. Ram
A temporary storage device that stores all software available at the moment.
The RAM malfunctioned and the computer froze.

16. Desktop The screen saver that you see when you log on.
My desktop is a picture of a rock.

17. Integrated Circuit A set of electronic circuits on one plate.
The integrated circuit destroyed itself when placed on the mother board.

18. Applications
A type of computer software that instructs the computer to do certain things.
I used the Nike application to run the mile.

19. Input The information that the user instructs the computer to utilize.
I gave the computer input by using the microphone.

20. Monitor
A hardware piece that displays the information on the motherboard.
The monitor said that a virus was trying to hack my computer.

21. Compact Disc
A storage device that is used to store data from the computer.
I used a CD to download music.

22. Electronic
A term used to describe anything having to do or that uses electricity.
My cell phone is electronic.

23. ROM Older storage that saves all old information and instructions.
I looked for passwords in my ROM.

24. Embedded Processor
A piece of hardware that regulates all of the computer’s instructions.
I got a new embedded processor for my motherboard.

25. Document A written electronic form to display evidence of something.
I formatted my word document and changed the font.

26. Hyperlink
A direction that the user can use to move to another page or area.
I made a hyperlink on my PowerPoint to the last page.

27. CPU
The CPU is a piece of hardware that carries out the instructions for the computer.
The CPU worked well when I logged into my .

28. Kilobyte The definition for the capacity of a certain storage area.
The document I downloaded was one Kilobyte

29. Graphic User Interface
A type of user interface that permits the wielder to connect with the other electronic devices on the internet.
I used my Graphic User Interface to talk with my friend online.

A piece of hardware that regulates the flow of electricity in an electronic.
The drive broke and the power went out.

31. Search Engine
A software that is programmed to search the World Wide Web.
My search engine took me to the site com.

32. Firewall
A software programmed to intercept any files that go in or out of your computer while also acting as your security system.
A virus was stopped by my firewall.

33. Resolution The amount of digital details in a picture or a document.
The picture on trains had high resolution.

34. Network A system that allows computers to exchange data.
The google network proved useful in my investigation.

35. Bit
A very small piece of information used in all technological devices.
The download was one bit.

36. Megabyte
A term used to describe a certain amount of storage in a computer.
The website only allowed a download of one megabyte.

37. Icon
A symbol in a computer which allows the user to navigate to certain networks or websites.
The icon took me to cool math.

38. Upload
This term means to transport a document from one sight to another by sending it.
I uploaded the file to school loop.

39. Modem
A device that turns power into information that the computer can use.
The modem adapted the power of my computer.

40. URL The directions before a website in the search box
Http. was the URL for that website.

41. Browser Software used to transport and locate information on the web.
I typed in the word coolmath and the browser took me to it.

42. Pixel
A small letter or word in a picture that describes where it comes from.
The pixel on the picture said google.

43. Internet
A vast area of computing where areas and websites can be located.
The internet was cut off, so I couldn’t get into the website.

44. Byte The term for a basic unit of information in computing.
The download consisted of three bytes.

45. Gigabyte A term used for an area of bigger storage in a computer.
The computer did not allow the download, because it was more than a gigabyte.

46. Processing
AQ term used in computing to describe a way of converting a document to a written form.
The document was word processed.

47. Motherboard
A piece of hardware inside a computer that controls and houses all of its functions.
The motherboard shut off, so I lost all of my documents.

48. Virus A malware that can disrupt or block your computer.
A virus attempted to hack my search engine.

49. Operating System
A piece of hardware that manipulates all the computer does.
The operating system did not allow me to enter the website.

The area in a software that stores all the data in a computer.
The database showed that I had opened word earlier.
