Programme 09:00 Registration and refreshments 09:30- Welcome and Introduction- C Beevor and Alison Kent- 09:45- Fatigue in Arthritis- research base- prevalence, impact, back ground Looking at patient reported outcome the speaker will explore the prevalence and impact of fatigue in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis 10:30- Assessing fatigue as a systemic feature of RA and other co morbidities e.g. anaemia, anaemic of chronic disease, thyroid disease etc.- what to consider This session will look at causes of fatigue in Rheumatoid Arthritis the speaker will explore the clinical aspect of disease and comorbidities as a possible cause of fatigue e.g. anaemia of chronic disease, acute anaemia causes to be consider, thyroid diseases etc. Fatigue and DMARDs (especially Fatigue and Methotrexate) and Biologic Therapies- the data Consider medical management of fatigue 11:30- Refreshments 11:45 - Assessing Fatigue- ways of assessing Fatigue in patients with RA Looking at top tips on assessing fatigue and the impact on the individual Looking at way of interpreting patient reported outcomes of fatigue as a strategy to improve self management 12:45- Lunch 13:30- Case Study 14:00- Supporting patients to Manage Fatigue – group work Looking at fatigue and its impact on life and ways the Rheumatology MDT team can support patients in devising a self-management tool kit. 14:45- Building a local action plan to support patients to manage fatigue Round table conversation and action planning to support patients
