iTEAMS: Overview iTEAMS I NTEGRATED T ECHNOLOGY E NGINEERING A ND M ATH S CIENCE iTEAMS is a 3-Year 1.5 million dollar CaMSP grant designed to build STEM teaching and learning skills for 50 teachers and their students in grades 3-8.

iTEAMS teachers will participate in a cohesive three-year experience to build content knowledge and pedagogical skills in mathematics, science, engineering, and technology. iTEAMS is designed to provide teachers with the tools to develop inquiry- based lessons, opportunity to develop and engage in specific curricular development and units, and a modified lesson-study structure to develop a deep understanding of implementation of NGSS and Common Core. iTEAMS teachers will develop grade-level units and activities that address the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards specific to their grade level, within a shared inquiry-based approach that spans grade levels. iTEAMS Mission and Goals

Integrating iTEAMS Learning into Practice The Exploratorium demonstrated a paper bridge building lesson at this summer’s intensive PD. iTEAMS Science teachers from Miller Creek MS implemented it during the first weeks at school. Every student at Miller Creek MS engaged in the activity. 3 rd grade teachers from Glenwood adapted Miller Creek’s presentation for their classrooms. Schools from three of the participating districts have used these presentation in their classrooms, iTEAMS Lesson
