How to Contact Instructor QuickMail –HCC policy requires distance education instructors and students to communicate using QuickMail. –I will not reply to messages sent to my HCC box from students’ personal accounts (e.g., gmail, yahoo, etc.). –You must activate your HCC account in order to use QuickMail. –To send a message using QuickMail, log into the course and click “Compose New Message” in the QuickMail block on the upper right side of the screen. –In order to read my messages and replies, you have to log into your HCC account. Voic – –Leave your name, course (PSYC 2315), and telephone number. –Give specific information as to why you are calling. –In almost all cases, I will reply via QuickMail rather than by telephone. Attendance HCC Policy: Non-Attendance Withdrawal –HCC policy requires instructors to drop students who do not attend class on or before the official date of enrollment. –“Attendance” is defined as logging in AND completing assignments. If you do not complete the Get Started Activities by the due date in the Course Calendar, you will be dropped and reported as “Never Attended” to the registrar. –If you fail to submit assignments on time later in the semester, you may also be dropped for non-attendance. –To ensure that you are aware of changes and announcements that may occur during the semester, you should log in to the course several times a week. Unit Exams 50 multiple-choice questions, no time limits, open book, one attempt All exams are available on the first day of class. Students can log in and out as many times as they want prior to the due dates. Students can the instructor with questions about items on the exams prior to submission for grading. Exams must be completed by 11:55 p.m. on the due dates. Grades will be available immediately after exams are completed. Students can review graded exams, but correct answers are not provided. DISCUSSIONS & PAPER Through out the semester you will have opportunities for discussions of VIDEOS, student posters, classmate questions, or other topics. To earn credit on these topics you must – write a minimum of five sentence statements and – at least two responses to other student’s posts on that topic. All of your discussions must be compiled (by copying and pasting them into a Microsoft word document) for submission by the due date. Your discussion paper must then be uploaded to the Discussion Assignment section of the class site. You are required to participate in TWO discussions of your choice.
