A brief report on ITP SET UP – Chair- Director ATI – Member Secretary- Dr.H. Sothu, N.O. Decided to take up 5 Departments in Kohima District Medical, PHE, Education, Youth Resources & Sports and Information Technology
Initially 3 Departments selected Medical Public Health Engineering Education
Target Group All Grades of employees in Medical Department including Doctors All Grades in Public Health Engineering Department Selected Teachers in School Education Department
Other Activities Meetings with selected Departments Outing for Verification and finding ground realities Studying of past documents and setting strategies Conflict resolution meetings Field studies by Officials- Visit to Naligaon Sidhi, Interlinking of rivers project,Maharashtra, (Yashada) Doctors without Borders, NEIGRIMS, Nursing Colleges, Annamalai University for Value based education etc.
Design of Training and Related activities -TNA- Office procedure and other office needs completed TNA for villages under way -Training Modules in good progress -TOT will be conducted in January Methodology yet to be finallised -Training Materials for office procedures and other normal things are all ready available. However the non- conventional types remain to be finalised. -Specific consultation with field staff on their needs.
Strategies Medical- – Training officers & staff with office requirements – Training of Field staff Within and outside the state from reputed institutes Eg- Crash course on Advance Nursing Sanitation Practical and safe water use etc. – Training of Paramedics – Doctors sans frontiers – Use of Print and electronic media. A dedicated group already in place
Cont- Public Health Engineering Department – Training officers and staff on Basic office needs – Kohima Town is starved of water – Water sources available, but not reaching Kohima – Good sense of sharing required – Government could not succeed till now – Work with PHE, Urban Development – Work with owners & villagers to bring about change of attitude – Govt & Villages agree- Historic step – Train a team from villages as master trainers – Develop IEC materials and TV programs
Cont- School education Department – Value based education – Select Enthusiastic teachers to be trained as master trainers – Initially about -50 – Long term benefit- for change in the education system – Morals and values
Cont- Information Technology – IT comparatively new Help department and Public- Youth Youth resources and Sports – The whole Department Training Coaches as TOTs – Sports for young people.
