 Have you ever wondered why the modern world today is so advanced in every field?  I just imagine that in a building I’m standing on, was the invention of Pythagoras. The exact measurement of this building was made to build it and the theory of measurement in Geometry was invented by Pythagoras.

 Title Page  Introduction  Purpose of this Presentation  Overview of my Presentation  Contributions  Influence of the Greeks on Modern Society  What would the world be without the Greeks Contribution.  Summary  Conclusion  Bibliography

My purpose of this presentation is to show how much the Greeks were full of knowledge and wisdom and how their contributions have helped today’s world become a more developed place.

 Greeks have made a big contribution to the modern world.  The most famous Greek philosopher is Socrates who played a very important role in the old times and also in today’s world.  Socrates was a hardworking man, he was stone cutter and a sculptor but he still had great knowledge.  He invented the dialectic method where he made people think of the problem, understand it, discuss about it, argue about it and then come to a solution.  Pythagoras was another famous Greek philosopher who invented Geometry.  Because of Pythagoras inventions today the world knows Geometry and also knows how to measure things.

 Socrates invented the Dialectic method. He made people think about solutions to any problems. He made people use their mind and let them know that self wisdom was very important for a man.  Pythagoras developed mathematical theories. He was the best teacher of his time. He invented the Pythagoras theory of the measurement of right angle triangles.

 Socrates has affected the modern society a lot. He developed logic, beliefs and physics with his inventions. He also developed a more advanced philosophy because it now takes a part of his thinking.  Socrates contribution is that even today’s schools and colleges use his dialectic method.  Pythagoras invented numerology, he developed wheels of letters, he even developed geometry and this invention is used in today’s world.

 Today people have a better understanding of knowledge and wisdom and now know how to use it in their life.  If the world did not have their contribution we would be very unexciting and have no knowledge of math, science, astronomy etc.  People today would not know how to count, there wouldn’t know how to measure, today we wouldn’t have big buildings to live in, we wouldn’t have calculators or computers to work with.

 Therefore the Greek people had a major contribution on the development of modern society.  The society today knows maths, science, medicine it’s all because of the ancient Greek philosophers.  Socrates was a great philosopher but he never wrote even one book about himself.

 So at last I would like to say  Thank you Socrates for helping us to think out of our way  Thank you Pythagoras for helping us to know geometry and theories and also teaching us how to measure.  Thank you Mr. Aaron for giving us this topic to research and present. We really learned a lot of information on the olden times. 
