Who are we? Our Strategic Vision Is of a society where the potential and passion of people to transform lives and communities through volunteering is fully realised. Our Mission Volunteering England supports an increase in the quality, quantity, impact and accessibility of volunteering throughout England. Volunteering England is the national volunteering development agency for England, committed to supporting, enabling and celebrating volunteering in all its diversity.

Who are we? Our work links research, policy, innovation, good practice and grant-making in the involvement of volunteers. Volunteering England is at the centre – bringing ideas and people together, developing better networks and structures, and initiating projects to support volunteering in a wide range of fields, such as health and social care, sport and employer-supported volunteering.

How?

Sport England Project 9 Regional Sporting Champions Develop links between Volunteer Centres, Sports Partnerships and Sports Clubs Develop more sports volunteers and volunteering opportunities. Increase the number of sports clubs accessing advice and support on volunteer management and developing opportunities

WHY? GROW More volunteers must be recruited to and retained in sports clubs to achieve growth targets. Provide link to wider community and new volunteers for grass roots sports clubs. Support the increase of new volunteers becoming volunteer coaches and officials (EXCEL)

WHY? SUSTAIN Sports clubs better able to manage and support their volunteers. More likely to be retained Increase in diversity of volunteers in sports clubs and able to maintain current levels of activities Supporting club and governing bodies to achieve higher volunteering and baseline satisfaction survey scores

Inspiration and Legacy from the 2012 Games Project The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will inspire thousands of new volunteering roles and engage people who haven’t previously volunteered. The Office of the Third Sector is providing funding for Volunteering England and YouthNet’s ‘Inspiration and Legacy from the 2012 Games’ project, which will ensure everyone who is inspired by 2012 can find those volunteering opportunities quickly and easily.
