4 PARTNERSHIP WORKING Working with voluntary, statutory and other partners, locally, regionally and nationally to identify issues, build capacity and develop resources within the sector. Participating in a number of strategic meetings and forums to ensure that the VCS is considered in relation to key priorities i.e. Children’s Trust, Children’s Workforce, Teenage Pregnancy, Disabled Children’s Services, Safeguarding Children. This leads to: East Riding Safeguarding Children Board Safeguarding Training ERCVYS registration Scheme

5 East Riding Safeguarding Board (ERSCB) Senior Board – Joint Conference, Toolkits, LADO for VCS, Strategic input Operational Management Group Sub-groups: Safeguarding Training Safe Recruitment and Managing Allegations Missing Children Third Sector Safeguarding Forum

6 Safeguarding Training VCS Workforce Strategic Partners Programme (WSPP) ER Safeguarding Training Sub-group Developing Pool of Trainers in VCS E-learning Additional one to one support

7 ERCVYS Registration Scheme Fit for purpose health check for smaller VCS Policies CRB checks Insurance Training and Qualifications Benefits Reduced insurance Accessible CRB checks Reduced cost of hiring Local Authority (LA) schools/leisure facilities Access to LA Grants

8 Regional Safeguarding Work VCS Engage programme – Regional Development Manager (Yorkshire & Humber) Links with the regional network of LSCB Chairs Set up a regional network of VCS Safeguarding Representatives to meet with Government Office Safeguarding Leads on a regular basis Developing an LSCB Checklist for VCS involvement Networking opportunities Themed meetings to explore key areas i.e. Vetting and Barring, smaller groups needs around safe working, long term sustainability of supporting VCS through engaging and developing local infrastructure organisations
