2 Page 2 Encouraging eGovernment innovation in Europe Demand and need neForum Association was created: to link together:  administrations  IT sector  scientific community to support the efforts several partners (including EC) to build the European „knowledge space” of eGovernment to bridge the Member States experience with NAS expectations

3 Page 3 Encouraging eGovernment innovation in Europe Mission The e-Forum Association is dedicated to analysing the future needs of eGovernment in Europe, and promoting excellence in defining solutions to those needs by bringing the private and public sectors together. Our intend is to be the reference point for best practice and excellence in European eGovernment

4 Page 4 Encouraging eGovernment innovation in Europe Key Initial Objectives Play a very active role in transforming local, regional & central government, adding real value to the community Share information on successful, leading- edge eGovernment implementations Establish partnerships better to serve the EU eGovernment market Promote the success of EU eGovernment to all Develop an atmosphere of professionalism that encourages EU eGovernment people to achieve their very best

5 Page 5 Encouraging eGovernment innovation in Europe We plan to do this through: Being the open point of contact in Europe for all eGovernment matters, independent of individual commercial or political pressures The website, with a large members-only section: o Discussion groups o Case studies o Surveys o Latest news o Optional directory of members & their interests Five major EU-wide study groups o Regular meetings to which all members are invited o Publications A major annual conference – 2003: Valencia (Spain), middle of September

7 Page 7 Encouraging eGovernment innovation in Europe Benefits to Public Sector Members Discuss new eGovernment ideas Share best practice in all aspects of eGovernment Join a Europe-wide network of experts in the field (as far almost 200 registered organizations) Obtain world-wide recognition for novel solutions Get to know the strengths of the key suppliers of eGovernment solutions (to put together tender lists quickly) Get cut-price access to prestigious conferences Get access to regular surveys and case studies

8 Page 8 Encouraging eGovernment innovation in Europe Interaction and innovation This is the place where public and private sectors can discuss eGovernment solutions for the benefit of Europe o Challenging existing and discussing new eGovernment ideas. e-Forum is the only place where members from the public sector and the private sector can share best practice on eGovernment solutions. o Exchange ideas about eGovernment solutions and what is possible with Information and Communication technology, o With the help of a Europe-wide network of experts in the field of eGovernment, o This is for all eGovernment people - central, regional and local.
