Welcome!! CACE Beginning High ESL Class

Classroom Rules and Expectations Bring a three-ring binder, a spiral notebook, paper, pen, 2 pencils and an eraser to class each day. The binder should be at least 2 inches. Speak, read, write and listen to English everyday at home. Listen to the teacher when she speaks. Participate in all class activities. Turn off your cell phone and pager, or place on vibrate, before entering class, Be respectful of others. Do not speak if the teacher has asked someone else a question. We learn better if someone doesn’t always give us the answer, but allows us to figure it out. Come to class on time and stay until class is over. Let the teacher or the office know if you will not be able to attend class. The office number is An English-English dictionary is highly recommended along with your bilingual dictionary.

School Rules No food, drink (except bottled water) or GUM in class. No smoking, alcohol, or drugs allowed on school grounds. Students under the influence of alcohol or other drugs will be sent home. Wear your ID badge on campus at all times. No children or visitors in the classroom. Return to class immediately after break. Respect for the teacher, school staff, and other students is expected. Adult classroom behavior is expected of all students. See handout from orientation for other school rules
