LE MIDDLE EAST

FOOOOD My global issue is food Although the Middle East has natural resources and minerals that can be used, there are other problems that cause food contribution to be an issue

Food Pix

What’s happening Middle East is a place of water scarcity It’s tough to grow much food in the climate Middle East are faced with rising prices on world markets. This is due to competition for the same food products from other areas of the world World markets have experienced severe disruptions in the past several years from distant storms, floods and droughts These disasters have caused chaos with the global market mechanism that underlies the international food trade

Climate

UN The UN have created an organization called Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) FAO participates in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) which coordinates economic, social and related work of the 14 UN specialized agencies as well as regional commissions Another organization is called World Food Program The WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. WFP is funded entirely by voluntary donations $1 feeds 4 kids

UN ORGANIZATION

Future The population in the Middle East will increase by a few million, thus increasing food demand In spite of large resources, the economy remains fragile Firstly, the fresh water resources per capita are very low compared to Asia and Europe. Desalinization plants are yet extensively used in the Gulf States. Secondly, the region is more and more dependent for food I could only see the situation getting worse
