Presentation transcript:

Reading Log Rules – I understand that I am to read, respond, and have a parent sign this reading log 5 times weekly.

2. I will read and log an average 30 minutes of reading 5 times weekly. I will log at least 150 minutes of reading during the 5 entries.

3. Reading Logs will be due every Thursday and are worth 100 points total. I understand that I may turn in my log 1 day late (on Friday) for a late grade of minus 20 points.

Reading Logs will not be accepted more than 1 day late. Failure to turn in a reading log will result in a grade of 0. However, there will be an Extra Credit Log week to erase 0’s.

Independent Reading grades will count for 15% of a student’s final average. This grade will be a combination of Reading Logs and AR points and/or substitute assignments for non AR books.

Students are encouraged to read books of interest, so non-AR books are acceptable with parent approval if not from BRMS Media Center.

AR point scale for 9-week period : 6 th grade 20+ points = points over 20 (Max 115) = 90/A = 80/B 5-9 = 70/C Below 5 = 50/F 0 = 0

AR point scale for 9-week period 7 th grade: 25+ points = points over 25 (Max 115) = 90/A = 80/B = 70/C 5 – 10 = 60/F = 50/F 0 = 0
