Main Characters Zeus: the most powerful of all Gods. God of the universe Hermes: The messenger for Zeus. Also brought luck and protected travelers Apollo: The god of prophecy, also a healer. Hades: Brother of Zeus and poseidon, God of the underworld. Athena: the goddess of wisdom. Aphrodite: A daughter of Zeus, Goddess of Love. Ares: the goddess of war. Hera: The goddess of marriage, Zeus’ wife. Medusa: A young women turned into a snake-haired monster by athena. Calpso: A sea nymph and enchantress. Hestia: Calm goddess of home and home life. Hephaestus: God of fire and the forge. Poseidon: God of the sea, horses, and of earthquakes. Artemis: Independent goddess of the hunt, the forest, wildlife, childbirth, and the moon.

Setting The setting took place all over Circa,and Troy Ancient Greece in 1500 B.C. It also took place at Mt.Olympus, and deep inside the underworld. Mt.Olympus, and deep inside the underworld Mt. Olympus was located in europe on the border of thessaly and macedonia. In greek mythology the mountain was regarded as, “the home of the gods”, specifically the twelve main gods.

Conflict The conflicts arise while Zeus’s children attempt to successfully accomplish Zeus’ tasks. Some may be easy, while others may be very difficult. One of the most difficult tasks in this book is bringing back the head of Medusa to Zeus. No one has ever come back alive from Medusa’s cave. An easy task in this book would be stealing Ares’(The god of war) adamantine sickle with the Cap of Invisibility.

Quicksilver is the story of how Zeus’s children try to please Zeus (the most powerful god). All of his children do various tasks in order in make their father(Zeus) happy. Plot

Historical Events A historical event that happened in this book is the Trojan War -- the story of a ten-year war in greek mythology. Another historical event in this book is the Judgment of Paris, which is a contest between the most beautiful goddesses of Olympus- Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena- for the prize of a golden apple addressed to “the fairest.”Trojan Warf Paris, which is- for the goladdres
