Humorous Personal Narrative

Chocolate Cake for Breakfast Investigating the Model 1) Did you find the model entertaining? 2) The introduction should do two things – a) introduce the event b) catch the reader’s interest. Did the model do this? In what way? 3) Humorous Personal Narratives usually center around typical characters: helpless victim of circumstances crazy, high-strung, neurotic person naïve or innocent person What type of character is in the model?

Humorous Personal Narrative 4) HPNs are usually written in chronological order (1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd …) Is the model written this way? How do you know? 5) HPNs focus on a single event, with maybe some background. What happens in the model? 6) HPNs are usually told in the 1 st person point of view (I). Would it be different in the 3 rd person. Would it be better or worse.

Humorous Personal Narrative 7) Sometimes HPNs end abruptly, leaving the reader to imagine the result. Other times the loose ends are all tied up. What happens in the model?
