The Executive Branch at the State and National Level

What are the roles and powers of the Executive branch at the State and National Level?  The powers of the executive branch are defined (written) in the U.S. Constitution and the VA Constitution.  The executive branch at the state and national level carries out/enforces the laws.

Who are the important people in the Executive Branch?  The President is the Head of this branch at the National Level and the Governor is the head at the State Level.  Cabinet departments and regulatory agencies help the President and the Governor carry out the laws (called Bureaucracy)

Ways the Executive branch Influences policymaking  Proposing legislation in an annual speech to the legislature:  State Level: State of the Commonwealth (Governor)  National Level: State of the Union Address (President)  Appealing directly to the people
