Energy Martin Mastrangelo

My argument. There are a lot of energy resources, and Michigan should use more of the environmentally friendly ones. Wind power is probably the most efficient energy source because no air or water is polluted. Hydro is #2 because there is no water or air pollution and the water supply runs forever. Biomass can generate energy on small or large scales. Biomass can also reduce landfill space and can be used in transportation fuel. Solar energy produces no greenhouse gases or any other harmful gases

Wind power 1.Wind power is clean. There is no burning or landfill dumping in the process. 2.Wind power has somewhat of a negative impact on the landscape. If you pay the land owners, you can get a better reaction. You can also place windmills out in the ocean where there is a lot of wind. 3.All of the wind is free. We can use as much as we want.

Hydroelectric power 1.Continues water supply. That means that there will be a continues energy supply. 2.No pollution. There is no water pollution in the process. 3.There is an enviormental impact. The impact ocours near dams, on fish that swim upstream. We can help that by instaling fish ladders like the one below.

Solar power 1.Solar power gives off no greenhouse gases. 2.Solar has some impact on the environment. If you don't use it properly, it can harm the desert ecosystem. 3.Sometimes wind power doesn't work out. When this happens, you should turn to solar!

Biomass power 1.Biomass can be used on small or large scales. Therefore, it is very eficiant. 2.Biomass is sustainable. That means that the energy will always be there. 3.Biomass energy can also be used in transportation fuel. All kinds of veicles use biomass.
