How to Set your CHIP Pedometer

Written Instructions The written instructions for the pedometer are somewhat lacking. This guide may be of help. To set the pedometer, you will want to know three things before beginning: – Your length of stride in inches – Your weight in pounds – Your goal in steps per day

Establish your Stride Option 1: rough estimate – 26 inches for women – 29 inches for men Option 2: calculated estimate – females: height x.413 – males: height x.415 Option 3: calculate exact – Measure 10 steps and divide by 10

Begin by Resetting, or clearing out all the prior data Press the MODE button various times until the indicator displays Total Steps

Begin by Resetting, or clearing out all the prior data Press and hold the RES button for two seconds.

Press the MODE button various times as follows: The display will change. It will say Step, then Total Step, then Step again. When it gets to Step after Total Step, don’t push it again.

Press and hold the SET button The display will change and read AdJ. Press and hold the set button until the display changes to 12Hr or 24Hr.

Set the Clock To choose between a 12 hour or 24 hour clock, press MODE or RES until the proper selection is visible. Then press SET again.

Set the Time The seconds should be blinking. Press MODE or RES to change these, if desired, then press SET again to make the hour blink. Press MODE or RES to change the hour, and press SET again. Set the minutes as above and press SET again. Note that a PM will be visible but AM will not be seen when setting the hour.

Set the Date and Inches Continue the same process for setting the date. After setting the year, the choice will be between “in”, for inches, and “cm” for centimeters. Use MODE or RES to select “in” and press SET again.

Set your Stride and Weight A number should be flashing. This needs to be set for your stride in inches. Press MODE to increase the number, RES to decrease the number. When it is correct, press SET again. Now enter your weight in pounds. Press SET again.

Set your Goal A number should be flashing. This needs to be set for your desired number of steps per day. Press MODE to increase the number, RES to decrease the number. When it is correct, press SET again. You are done!

Using the Pedometer By pushing the MODE button you will be able to view your activity. Step: your activity for each of the last 7 days Total Step: activity for the last 30 days Step: steps since midnight Mile: distance since midnight Kcal: calories burned since midnight Min: time spent in walking / running since midnight

Reviewing the last 7 days Press the MODE button various times until you see “step” in the upper left and “-1” displayed in the lower right. Press the set button various times to cycle through the steps, distance, etc. from the prior day.

Reviewing the last 7 days While still in the past days mode, press the RES button various times to visualize “-2”, “- 3”, etc. When you see the day of interest, you can the press the SET button various times to review the activity from that day.

Reviewing the last 30 days Press the MODE button various times until you see “total step” displayed in the upper left. Press the set button various times to cycle through the steps, distance, etc. from the last 30 days.

Reviewing Today since MN Press the MODE button various times to cycle through the step, distance, etc. since midnight

Caution! The clip doesn’t secure the pedometer well. You may want to keep it in your pocket, or on the inside of your belt or waistband rather than clipped to the outside.
