2 Main screen You must close your question editing / creation screen before you will see main screen icons –Click on FILE –Click on CLOSE (note: doing this from main screen will close program) Edit an existing question set New question set Test key pads Change graph defaults (not covered) Setup / run a session Reports (not covered)

3 Creating Questions Step 1 Click on NEW icon. Highlight Question file (in blue) and click on OK button

4 Type the question title here Type the title you want displayed above the countdown clock and the results graph Select the number of possible answers to this question that you want shown in results graph (starting number - ending number) Select the correct answer. The correct answer bar will flash on the results graph Creating Questions Step 2

5 Creating Questions Creating next question Click on INSERT NEW GRAPH icon A pop up window appears Click on OK button in pop up window Repeat STEP 2

6 Creating a blank image If you do not want to see the results graph flashing for extended periods of time you need to create a blank screen. It is the same as creating a question except: Change type to TITLE SLIDE (note: there are no scale or answer options) Change background color to black Make sure no file name is in Background picture. If there is, delete it When running session test. After results graph has been displayed sufficiently, hitting space bar will advance to blank image and stay there until space bar is pressed once more. The next image will be the count down clock counting down with the results displayed at the end of time.

7 Saving Questions Step 1 Click on FILE Click on SAVE AS

8 Saving Questions Step 2 Type a name for question series. This will be the file you look for running a session Click on SAVE You must save questions before they can be shown in a session

9 Running a Session

10 Test key pads first Click on TEST KEY PADS icon. A new window will appear Click on POLLING button (A) (blue squares will cycle in com 1 window (B)) Push buttons on all REPLY key pads you want to use Corresponding key pad numbers will change from black to red (C) if UNITY and REPLY are functioning correctly When done, click on CANCEL button (D) A D C B

11 Beginning a session (after testing keypads) Click on CONDUCTING A SESSION icon. When appropriate boxes are completed, click on OK button Screen will change to black. The beginning of actual session Space Bar or N key will advance to question. Results will automatically display at end of count down Space Bar during count down will stop count down. Hitting it again will advance to results L key will reset to beginning of current question. Hit space Bar to start clock Click button and enter time (in seconds) for people to respond within Only SHOW RESULT, Com Port 1 and SHOW RAW DATA should be checked Select total number of REPLY key pads being used Unity fills Session File automatically for you Type in where question file can be found. Use browse if necessary Type a description

12 Closing a session Click on water mark arrow in lower left of screen (if you can not see arrow move your mouse and it will appear) Click on HOME PAGE Click on water mark arrow in lower left of screen (if you can not see arrow move your mouse and it will appear) Click on END You should now be at the main screen
