Mathematics Arithmetic Test 30 minute test involving written calculations, fractions and percentages Reasoning Tests 2 x 45minute papers involving all Maths strands in word problem/ using and applying type situations

Reading Comprehension A 1 hr test with 3 texts to read and answer questions upon. Questions and texts range from easier, more accessible language, to difficult texts with in depth answers required. 50 marks are available.

The SATs – Reporting Results Results come out in July No levels anymore: reports will show a raw score (number of raw marks awarded) a scaled score confirmation of whether or not they attained the national standard Exactly what constitutes as the national standard, won’t be decided by the testing agency until July after all UK tests have been marked, but we are aiming at old 4a for pupils BUT pupils will also get a teacher assessment grading in all areas

Ways to support your child Study books Feel free to download practise tests (but no later than 2010 please as we use them for assessment) available from satspapers.org, but remember these are based on the old curriculum and are different to the tests your child will be taking Spelling investigations Good night’s rest/relaxing weekend/ brain food breakfast prior to tests! Reassure them – no need to feel under any pressure – teacher assessment alongside the tests, and they are being well prepared by the school in the new curriculum!
