Storage Areas 865, 879, 954 and 955 G. Schneider J. Simon N. Sharmazanashvili G. Schneider BE-BI BI Beamline Operational Spares Strategy 2 (BOSS 2) 1

Storage Areas G. Schneider BE-BI BI Beamline Operational Spares Strategy 2 (BOSS 2)  Long term storage areas 879, 954 and 955  Tooling, part and assembly storage area 865/R-B01  Asset creation via EAM or MTF  Conclusion and Outlook 2

Long Term Storage Area 879, 954 and G. Schneider BE-BI  Inspection Status  All items inspected and expert identified  Visits now foreseen for the remaining components with experts to identify storage objective and instrument status  Memorandum F. Brodry Radioactive Components of the A&T Sector WG – «Stored vs Released»; EDMS

Storage Area 879, 954 and G. Schneider BE-BI  Status Boss1 4

Storage Area 879, 954 and G. Schneider BE-BI  Status BOSS 2 5

Storage Area 865-R-B G. Schneider BE-BI  Refurbishment of storage area  Cabinets and shelves available  Identification of location 6

Storage Area 865-R-B G. Schneider BE-BI  Refill of the cabinets started  All components to be identified  Mayor work load  No label = No storage 7

Identification in INFOR via EAM or MTF G. Schneider BE-BI INFOR= Tool for the database ( An organisation developing software for enterprises) EAM= Electronic Asset Management; User interface MTF= Manufacturing and Test File; Use interface Part= Type of object (Nokia C3-01) ASSET= My Nokia C3-01 INFOR EAM MTF 8

Storage Area 865-R-B G. Schneider BE-BI  How to label?  First, get a typical drawing code as SPSBCTDC0015  Apply the corresponding quality assurance plan  Will be outcoming with «MTF» label type SPBCTDC015-CR Note: For the PS complex, it was discussed and agreed in the 16th Naming Conventions Sub-committee meeting the that all PS instruments will start their identifier with PX. Each equipment code (BCTDC) can only be used once. It is impossible to have a PSBCTDC and a PS_BCTDC. 9

Identification in INFOR via EAM or MTF G. Schneider BE-BI  Identification of assets and up-load is expert operation  Both EAM or MTF work and are available for BI  3 categories crated (for the moment)  Vacuum envelopes (Class 1)  Vacuum inserts (Class 2)  Non-vacuum components (Class 3) 10

Have or find the information to fill the template… G. Schneider BE-BI 11

… many good reasons why the up- load fails, but only one that it works… G. Schneider BE-BI Category not created, since LEP drawing… O.k. Issues to be solved with EAM experts … expert operation for the up-load 12

But: Check in and out is non-expert operation G. Schneider BE-BI 13

Lots of details can be identified if wanted G. Schneider BE-BI  Manufacturing Steps  Coatings (Copper, NEG, others..)  Vacuum Qualification Checks  Storage Conditions  Replacement Chambers  Others… 14

Conclusion and Outlook G. Schneider BE-BI  Instrument identification in long term storage is ongoing Storage objective and status in long term storage is defined  Vacuum qualification test for a significant number of stored instruments (>100) likely. Results?  Asset identification and creation is expert work  Checking in and out from storage is non-expert work with some minimum of training  3 types of mechanical/vacuum related templates created, others possible  Unified part identification as for seals CERN wide possible and wanted?  Fusion of BAAN (long term storage informatics tool) and EAM/MTF might be coming in some years. 15

Thank you ! G. Schneider BE-BI  Comments ?  Suggestions ?  Inspirations ?  Questions ? 16
