The Lighthouse of Alexandria By: Alyssa Karchmer

In Egypt on the island Pharaos Construction ended at around 280 BC The Lighthouse of Alexandria was demolished in the 1300s The Lighthouse was started by Ptolemey II Philadelphus and ended with Sostratus of Cnidus The Lighthouse was intended to scare off invaders or guide friendly boats safely to the harbor. The Lighthouse emitted fierce sounds in event of battle, and used mirrors and smoke to guide ships.
