1 Three-Dimensional Figures Pyramids A pyramid is a polyhedron that has one base. The base can be any polygon. The other faces are triangles. Prisms A prism is a polyhedron that has two parallel congruent bases. Edge: Where two faces meet. Vertex: Where three or more edges meet. Face: A flat surface of a solid. Base: The face that is used to classify a solid.

4 The leaning Tower of Pisa began to lean as it was being built. To keep the tower from falling over, the upper sections (floors ) were built slightly off center so that the tower would curve away from the way it was leaning. What shape is each section of the tower? cylinder
