1 The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World By: Reed McKay

2 Introduction This project represents some ancient,very notable objects from 2,500 B.C. Scientist think this started with Greeks. The pyramids were made by the Egyptians.

3 The Pyramids at GIZA There are three pyramids at GIZA, the most famous one was called the great pyramid of GIZA which measured up to 450 feet with it’s base at 13 acres

4 The Colossus of Rhodes the colossus of Rhodes was a huge statue of the Greek god Helios god of the sun Placed at the harbor of Rhodes and measured up to 100ft. tall. The colossus of Rhodes was originally created by the work of chares of LINDOS. Later it was knocked down by an earth.

5 The Statue of Zeus The statue of Zeus was made by PHIDAS of circa in 432 b.c. and placed in Olympia honoring the Greek god Zeus. People have tried to make replicas of it but the marble and bronze fade away. Zeus ->

6 The Temple of ARTIMIS Is currently a pillar in Ephesus, turkey surrounded by rocks. The temple was of tore down seven times and was made of marble [ except for the roof ] being built between 334 b.c. to 250 b.c. and once set to fire by a hero named stratus.

7 The Hanging Gardens of Babylon The hanging gardens of Babylon were started in 600 b.c. and used a chain pump to get water from the river to the gardens so servants could water the plants. Te gardens were made because the king of Babylon’s wife missed her home in the mountains so he made a mountain into a garden. 8 The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

9 The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was located in southwestern Turkey. It was an enormous tomb and was built between 353 B.C. to 350 B.C. It was designed by Satyrus and Pythis.

10 Lighthouse of Alexandria

11 The Lighthouse of Alexandria was created in the third century B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt between 285-247 B.C. It measured between 115-130 meters tall. It had a fire at the top to show light to the ships in order to guide them safely to shore. It may have served as the largest building of its time.
