GOVERNORS WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE DO? & PUPIL SURVEY RESULTS

WHO ARE WE?

WHY DO WE HAVE GOVERNORS? Schools need to be run well. They need to give children: Great teachers. Classrooms to work in. Outside space to play and learn in. Books and other equipment. These things are important. Why?

WHY DO WE HAVE GOVERNORS? The people who run our country, our government, have decided schools will run better if there is a group of people to help each head teacher. These people are called governors.

WHAT DO WE DO? We meet as a group and think about how to run the school well. We also come in to school for example to see lessons and assemblies.

WHAT DO WE DO? Mrs Doodson tells us lots of facts and what she is doing to make the school better. The most important facts are the ones that tell us what has made learning better for you all. We can ask questions to make sure the facts are right.

What you think about your school is really important when we think about how to run the school well and make plans for the future. Your answers were really helpful. Thank you!

PUPIL SURVEY RESULTS But you won’t see these suggestions – sorry! A crocodile under the climbing frame to make it scarier A swimming pool instead of a playground !

PUPIL SURVEY RESULTS What has changed? Different displays around school More playground equipment like footballs New LearnPads

PUPIL SURVEY RESULTS What has changed? We have asked Mrs Doodson to make sure you have: Clear feedback on your work and helpful Next Steps Clearer Learning Objectives and Success Criteria Your teachers are thinking about how you can go outside even more during lessons
