Jesus was born approximately 2,000 years and His birth was not an accidental event.

The Old Testament prophecies speak not only about the coming of Christ but about the birth of Christ: He will be from the tribe of Judah- Genesis 49:10 10 “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

His will be born through a Virgin- Isaiah 7:14 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.

Since Jesus was conceived by the agency of the Holy Spirit, God was His Father; His lineage was a holy one. John MacArthur

His birth will be in Bethlehem- Micah 5:2 2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.”

He will be born in the line of King David- Jeremiah 23:5 5 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the L ORD, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.

The details of His birth was planned by God & revealed through the OT prophets.

His birth was not only prophesied but was miraculously fulfilled to the detail of God’s plan. Matthew 1:23 (Read Isaiah 7:14) Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”

Matthew 2:6 (Read Micah 5:2 & Luke 2:1-7) “But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.”

John 7:42 42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” John 5: You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

The Lord planned and fulfilled His purpose by intervening in human history.

His birth was not natural but divine with a purpose to transform our lives. The birth of the Light of the World & Word of Life- John 1:9 & 14 9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

God became man through the birth of Christ- Philippians 2:6-7 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

His birth was the beginning of the fulfillment of God’s plan for our salvation.
