4 Why did he move the capital to this new location? Land was spacious and good for population growth. Also, it was situated for better defense against traditional enemies.

5 Why did King Rama I have to create a new code of laws for his kingdom? Most the old ones were destroyed in the sacking of Ayutthaya by the Burmese

6 How did King Rama I help develop Thai culture? Helped develop architecture, sculpture, and drama—Collected Buddhist artifacts.

13 According to Rama III, what 3 things must a person do to be a good candidate for being the King? The candidate must be good at daily administration and organization of the kingdom, good at religious affairs, and good at protecting the Thai people by preserving Thailand’s independence.
