Why did Austin go to Mexico City? – To get a new contract for land, and to help create Texas as it’s own state in Mexico 3. Why was Austin arrested? What happens after Austin is released from prison? – Arrested for Treason, wrote a letter saying lets create a government, he had to wait a few months before returning to Texas.
