History 0 The bound seam was used mostly used in Central Asia and Eastern Europe in the 16 th century because it was simple. 0 Flat-Felled seams are more complicated but they are extremely strong seams and good for unlined garments which were common until the 20 th century. Commonly used on denim. 0 The French seam is used for silk, linen, and underwear and is done by sewing the wrong sides then the right sides
