2 I.A seam finish is any method of sewing or trimming that prevents seam edges from raveling. A.A seam finish is chosen depending upon the type of fabric and end use of the finished item.

3 EQ: How and when do you use different seam finishes? II.Types of Seam Finishes A.Zig-zag 1.Fast and easy 2.Use for loosely woven, medium to heavy weight fabrics, i.e. upholstery or corduroy

4 EQ: How and when do you use different seam finishes? B.Pinked finish 1.Doesnt prevent raveling entirely 2.Use for firmly/tightly woven fabric, not suitable for satin and silky fabrics. 3.Must run a reinforcing stitch between the seam and the pinked edge.
